Privacy policy

At several points in this site, you can submit personal information. The information that you give us will be treated in accordance to the Data Protection principles outlined in the Data Protection Act 1998.

Data protection

BG Healthy You is required by law to comply with the Data Protection Act, 1998 (the 1998 Act).  To comply with the law, information is collected and used fairly, stored safely and not disclosed to any other person unlawfully. To do this BG complies with the Data Protection Principles which are set out in the 1998 Act. In summary these state that personal data shall be:

  • processed fairly and lawfully and shall not be processed unless certain conditions are met.
  • obtained for specified and lawful purposes and not further processed in a manner incompatible with that purpose.
  • adequate, relevant and not excessive.
  • accurate and where necessary up to date.
  • kept for no longer than necessary.
  • processed in accordance with data subjects' rights.
  • protected by appropriate security.
  • not transferred without adequate protection. The Organisation is committed to ensuring that current employees comply with this Act regarding the confidentiality of any personal data held by the Organisation, in whatever medium.

The site carries information that is already publicly available, such as organisational structures, membership and responsibilities of governing bodies and committees, staff contacts list, photographs of key staff, list of students to whom awards have been made or are likely to be made by the Organisation. Wherever necessary, permissions have been sought before publication of material.  Information that is already publicly available is exempt from the 1998 Act. It is the policy of BG to make public as much information about the Organisation as possible.

The images on this site are either covered by our own copyright or, where the copyright holder is another person or organisation, have been specifically cleared for our our use by the owner.

Cookies

BG summer schools’ website uses cookies to make continuous improvements to the website. None of the information gathered through Google Analytics can be traced to an individual - we do not know who you are as a unique user, merely that there are a certain number of people using this site. The cookie only relates to what goes on in this site and the information cannot be used for marketing on an individual basis.
